Fitting it all into one day!

I've been thinking about all the time I've been devoting to this etsy persuit of mine this summer. I'm neglecting other things. Like housework. My laundry is not "on schedule". My bathrooms could use some help. I can't remember the last time I dusted (I'm being honest here).

My typical day used to involve going to work, taking the kids to and from school, cleaning, cooking, helping with homework, and maybe even talking with my husband. How have I fit my craft into this?? Well, number one, it's summer. No homework or shuttling kids. Number two, which is much more important because it required some deep thought on my part, I decided that it was ok to spend some time on myself! When I make a piece of jewelry that I really like I feel great! When I develop my photography and decide that it's frame worthy I feel proud!

I'm fitting it in because I've let other things go. And I'm happier. And messier. And my mom's not coming for a visit so who cares?

Sounds just like my life. I was just having these same thoughts about what I've been neglecting since I've started Etsy and I feel okay with the sacrifices I've made. I feel much better doing something for myself.

I think the kids benefit from a happy mom.

I feel the same way sometimes, when I look around the apartment and see all of the things that could be cleaner. But then I realize that my fiance doesn't notice these things (men just don't), and it's not really massively dirty, it's just not tidy.

I'm still wishing for more time every day, but I'm slowly learning to accept that I can't actually make the sun slow down... :)

So nice to know that others are in the same messy, but wonderful boat that you are in! Since staring both Etsy, and my blog this summer, I feel like so many other things (Cleaning, cooking, weeding, etc) have just fallen by the wayside. It's good to know that this is the norm, and we don't have to be Super Woman!

My latest treasury!
